Old Westbury Gardens

Yesterday, I taught a class at Old Westbury Gardens. http://oldwestburygardens.org/

It was a children's "Autumn Still Life workshop." We worked with acrylic paints on watercolor paper. It was alot of fun and the kids really enjoyed learning about the different techniques and textures that can be created with acrylic paints.

The workshop was in the quaint, old barn studio which is not heated. It was FREEZING!!

The children didn't seem to mind it at all. They were so involved with creating their still life painting that was set up in front of a large window with a gorgeous view of the fall foliage.

It was a great day although it took me quite a while to warm up afterwards.

Hope we can do it again in the spring.
Let me know if you would like to join us. Maybe we can have an adult workshop also.

  1. Wow! Sounds like a scene out of a European movie. I love the idea of an adult workshop next year. I would be the first to sign up and drive all the way out there from Connecticut.
    Happy Painting!
